It this recording, Brianna Robertson conforms a vast and wide compilation of classical singing performance. From the Baroque’s Handel and Purcell walks up to George Gershwin’s “Summertime” and achieves the task of sharing a splendid and delightful performance. With obviously enormous technical reserves at voice, Brianna offers a moment to relax and enjoy listening to her own and unique approach to music with that special and refine touch to those so much acclaimed top songs. Brianna Robertson began her classical singing training at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama’s Junior Academy when she was thirteen years old and since then she has been a member of many music organizations such as the National Youth Choir of Scotland, The Royal Scottish Academy Chamber Choir and Senior Choir, The Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s Chorus and more recently The University of Glasgow’s Chapel Choir, who earlier this year had he pleasure of singing at the premier of Ronald Stevenson’s piece “Praise to Beinn Dorain” at the Celtic Connections festival. Throughout the year she takes part in many concerts and competitions, not only with the choirs but also a solo performer. Brianna came first in the Glasgow Festivals Opera and Oratorio section twice, first in 2005 and again, this year, in 2008 where she also won the Judith Richmond Memorial certificate and the Janette Clanachan Memorial Award for performance of Opera and Oratorio. At the 2008 Glasgow Festival she was also invited to perform in the final night with the winner of the Festival of the year before. Brianna has had the pleasure of performing with students from the Senior Academy of Music in charity concerts around Scotland to raise money for very worthy causes. As a member of the Junior Academy she was entered into the competition for the Glasgow Cup for Voice and received high commendation for her performance. She has also has the pleasure of winning the Dorothy Copeland award for Music, the Gilbert and Sullivan award for Music performance and the Walker Quaich Award for Vocal performance, as well as the South Lanarkshire Award for Dedication to Music.
Brianna as well as performing classical music also enjoys taking part in production where she has held leading roles such as in the East Kilbride Light Opera’s production of “The Sound of Music” and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s production of “The Gondoliers”.
While studying music at The University of Glasgow; BMus Degree, she continues to perform as a soloist in many locations throughout Britain, often to audiences of hundreds of people, and has also successfully produced a concert this year, which will feature talent all over Scotland. It took place on 14th June 2008 in Claremont Church, East Kilbride.
